George Anderson and Edward Kipp are organizing this trip. Catherine Tanser is arranging the Hamilton bus. Marilyn Branch, Beverly Craig, Margaret Hall, Noreen Stapley and Sandra Shouldice are providing support for this trip. The purpose of this True Millennium Project, which has been endorsed by Dominion Council, is to celebrate the True Millennium and to acquaint Loyalist descendants with Mohawk Valley Loyalist sites. It is also being used to raise monies for the sponsoring branches and the Loyalist Memorial Fund. The tour will tentatively visit the Trinity Lutheran and Dutch Reformed Church in Stone Arabia, Oriskany Battlefield, the Old Fort Herkimer Church, the Indian Castle Church, the Old Palatine Church, Johnson Hall, the Herkimer Home, the historic Johnstown Quadrangle, Fort Johnson, Fort Klock, the Fulton County Courthouse, St. John Reformed Church in St. Johnsville, and the Old Stone Fort Museum. The visit to the Old Stone Fort Museum will include a revolutionary war encampment and a battle reenactment along with colonial music. Twenty percent of the sites are new sites, which were not included on the 1998 Loyalist Mohawk Valley Trip. A local historian will be the banquet speaker for the second night of the trip. Two buses will be used. The first bus will leave Hamilton and go via Niagara Falls to the Mohawk Valley, New York. The second bus will leave Ottawa and go by Morrisburg and Brockville to the Ivy Lea Bridge and onto the Mohawk Valley. If there is enough interest in the Kingston area, a stop may be scheduled in Kingston. In Ontario, people from the City of Toronto and west in Ontario, are requested to book on the Hamilton bus. People east of Toronto in Ontario and from the rest of Canada are asked to book on the Ottawa bus. The trip is open to Loyalist descendants and their friends. The number of people will be limited to 94 people. This four day trip will probably cost $425.00 in Canadian Funds per person based on sharing double accommodation.
