Paul Heck's Discharge, Birge-Carnegie Library of Victoria University, Toronto reads:

The Bearer hereof Paul Hecks Serjeant in the Corps of Volunteers raised by the late Col. Francis Pfister and lately commanded by Saml Mackey Esqr. having served honestly and faithfully in the said Corps for the space of One Year is by an Order of Genl Haldimand Commander in Chief hereby discharged from the said Corps, having first received a just & true Account of his pay Arrears...Cloathing and all just demands since his being under my command, as appears by his Receipts on the back hereof.

Given under my hand at Quebec this 24th of Augt 1778
