Colonel Edward Jessup Branch Church Service

St. Paul's United Church,

Corner of George and Dibble Sts.,

Prescott, Ontario

June 13, 2004

Service at 10:00 a.m.

Members of the Colonel Edward Jessup Branch of the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada attended the Sunday Morning service at St. Paul's United Church in Prescott.  This is in the area of Barbara Heck, the founder of Methodism in North America.

Don Galna was the guest speaker who gave a very informative talk on Early Methodism and Barbara Heck.

After the service, members took a Brown Bag lunch to the Blue Church, the church where the Hecks and many Loyalists are buried.

The Blue Church was open for visitors.  There were three re-enactors in period costume who did an excellent and very informative re-enactment of characters buried in the Blue Church Cemetery.  Gord Swoger portrayed Harry Horwood; Diane and Barry Brown were Sarah and David Breakenridge.

Visitors also got experience at dousing and were very successful.

A good time was had by all!
