Windows XP PPPoE Setup: **** If you have XP you do not need to install the RipNET High Speed software**** ****If you already have a NIC Card installed on your computer, you DO NOT need to install the NIC card or Drivers provided by RipNET**** Installing your Network Card: 1. Make sure that you turn off your computer 2. Take the cover off 3. Insert your “Network Card” firmly into a free PCI slot (white) 4. Place the cover back on the computer 5. Windows XP will install the “Network Card” and prompt you to “Re-Boot” 6. Done Configuring your connection: 1. Go to “Start” > “Control Panel” 2. Click on “Network & Internet Connections” 3. Click on “Create A New Connection” 4. Click “Next” 5. Check off “Connect To The Internet” > Click “Next” 6. Check off “Setup My Connection Manually” > “Next” 7. Check off “Connect Using A Broadband Connection That Requires A Username And Password” > Click “Next” 8. Type in “RipNET” in the ISP name area > Click “Next” 9. Make sure that you have a dot beside “Create This Connection For Anyone’s Use” 10. Enter in your username@ripnet.com 11. Enter in the Password; enter in the password again to confirm. 12. Check off “Use This Account Name” 13. Check of “Make This The Default Internet Connection” 14. Check of “Turn On Internet Connection Firewall For This Connection” 15. Click “Next” 16. Check off “Add A Short Cut To This Connection To My Desktop” 17. Click “Finish” 18. Click “Connect" |
