TECHNICAL SUPPORT : Wireless Highspeed : Windows 9x/ME/2000

 Windows 9x, ME, 2000 PPPoE Setup

**** You should have your Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME CD (depending on the Operating System you are running) on hand!! As it may prompt you for it throughout the install****

Installing your Network Card:

1. Make sure that you turn off your computer

2. Take the cover off

3. Insert your “NETWORK CARD” firmly into a free PCI slot (white)

4. Place the cover back on the computer

5. Re-Start your computer

6. You will get the “Add NEW HARDWARE WIZARD”

7. Insert the “FLOPPY” in to the A drive (10/100M Fast Ethernet LAN Driver)

8. The Wizard will prompt you to add the hardware “MANUALLY” or “LET WINDOWS
DETECT”, always add the hardware “MANUALLY”

9. Select “HAVE DISK”

10.   Browse to the appropriate Windows Operating System that you are running on your computer (Win 95, 98, etc.)

11.Then click “INSTALL”

12.   It will then extract the “DRIVERS” for the “NIC CARD” and install them on your system.

Configuring your connection:

1.        Either install the high-speed software from the CD-ROM provided by RipNET (It is located in the Windows Directory) or download via
http://www.ripnet.com/support/software/rip-hs15c.zip

2.        Double click the RipNET High Speed icon

3.        In the “NAME” field type your “Dial-In” username@ripnet.com        

4.        In the “PASSWORD” field type your password

5.        Let the install file run until it asked you to “RE-START” your computer

6.        After re-boot you will see the “RipNET High Speed” icon on your desktop

7.        Double click the RipNET High Speed icon on your desktop

8.        A “PROFILES” window will open

9.        Drag and drop the “RipNET” icon onto your desktop

10.     Double click the shortcut then click “CONNECT”

11.     Once connected, open up your browser or mail program

12.     Go to “START”> “SETTING”> “CONTROL PANEL”

13.     Double click “INTERNET OPTIONS”

14.     Click the “CONNECTIONS” tab at the top

15.     Put the black dot beside “NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION”

16.     Click the “LAN SETTINGS” button

17.     Remove and checkmarks

18.     Click “OK”

19.     Click “APPLY” the “OK”

20.     Close the “INTERNET OPTIONS” window

21.     Close the “CONTROL PANEL”

22.     To connect = “DOUBLE CLICK” on the “RipNET High Speed” icon and click the button “CONNECT”

23.     The software will go through the connection, and then it will disappear from your screen.

24.     You will see two little “COMPUTER SCREENS” down by your clock, when you are connected.

25.     Now open up your “BROWSER” and or “MAIL”.
