TECHNICAL SUPPORT : E-Mail : iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod)

E-Mail
iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod)

Setup a new e-mail account on an iPhone, iPod or iPad:

Press Settings.

Press Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

First, we're going to adjust the fetch feature, so press Fetch New Data.

Set Push to OFF and put a checkmark beside Manually.
Then, press the arrow in the top left corner to return to the previous screen.
Press Add Account...

Select Other.

Press Add Mail Account.

On this screen enter your name, full e-mail address and the appropriate password, then press Next.

It's best to leave the e-mail set to IMAP.
The incoming mail server Host Name is mail.ripnet.com.
The username and password are your full e-mail address and password.
The outgoing mail server Host Name is smtp.ripnet.com.
The username and password are your full e-mail address and password. Some devices may indicate that the username and password for outgoing e-mail is optional. That is not the case for your Xplornet Brockville e-mail. You must enter these in order for it to work.
Once everything is entered, press Next.

The device will take a few minutes to verify the data. Don't be alarmed if this takes upwards of 60 seconds. This is normal.

Once done, you will be returned to the previous screen and you can now save the e-mail account you've just created.

We're not quite done yet, though.
From the account screen press the newly created e-mail account.

Scroll down to the bottom and press the SMTP server.

Make sure the server is set to ON, turn SSL OFF. You can only use SSL on the incoming server. It won't work on the outgoing server.
Set the Authentication to Password and ensure the port is set to 587.
Press Done.

This will take you to the previous screen. Scroll all the way to the bottom again and this time press Advanced.
At the bottom of this screen ensure that SSL is turned ON, Authentication is set to Password and the port is set to 993.
Then return to the Account screen and you're done!
