Migration - Setup Guides

Common Microsoft Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7 E-Mail Programs:

Thunderbird:

Press ALT-T (The ALT key, and the T key, simultaneously) on your keyboard.
Select Account Settings... from the menu that appears.


From the left hand column select Server Settings from the line immediately below your e-mail account.
Make sure your Server name is set to mail.ripnet.com and your port to 995.
Set your Connection security to SSL/TLS and Authentication method to Normal password.
Place a checkmark in Leave messages on server and For at most 30 days.


Select Outgoing Server from the left column, at the very bottom of the list.
On the right side of the window, select the outgoing server that corresponds to your e-mail account and press Edit... If you don't recognize it, look for the server that is most likely called mail.ripnet.com or smtp.ripnet.com or indicates that it's the default.
In the window that appears, ensure that the Server Name is set to smtp.ripnet.com and the port is set to 587.
Set the Connection security to None or STARTTLS.
Set Authentication method to Password, transmitted insecurely or Normal Password.
Ensure your e-mail address is in the User Name field and press OK.


Press OK on the Account Settings window, close and reopen your e-mail program and you're done.
