Apple 7.9 to 9.x 

1.	Click the Apple Menu
2.	Find "Control Panels", and choose "Remote Access" from the list. (In 7.6 and 8.0, it's called "PPP" instead of Remote Access.)
3.	The field for the phone number should be easy to find. Add the area code before the phone number.
4.	Close the dialog.  If prompted to saved select YES
