Past Events

·     The Band gave a concert on November 12, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Brockville to celebrate the church’s 200th anniversary.

·     The Band participated in the “Music of the Heart” concerts for Community Involvement Legacy Homes on November 4, 2011 and November 5, 2010.

·     On October 3, 2009, the Band performed in the “Grand Reopening Gala” concert celebrating the completion of renovations to the Brockville Arts Centre.

·     The Band was inducted to the Brockville and Area Music & Performing Arts Hall of Fame on March 26, 2009.

·     In May 2008, the Band was visited by the critically acclaimed writer and arranger, Frank Ticheli.  The Band has played many of Mr. Ticheli’s works over the years and was very honoured and excited when he led workshops for the Band and performed as guest conductor at a public concert at the Brockville Arts Centre.

·     The Band has presented an annual spring concert on Mother’s Day since 2006.

·     In November 2004, the Band was featured at the Ontario Music Educator’s (OMEA) Conference in Toronto to present “Music for a Lifetime”, emphasizing the diversity of age and talent in our band and how well it all works together!

·     During the 2003-2004 season the Band completed a series of workshops, funded by a Trillium Grant from the Ontario government. These workshops were led by members of the University of Toronto Music faculty, to develop instrumental skills and overall musicianship. The workshops culminated in a concert in May 2004.

·     The Band played at a benefit concert for CHEO in the Main Chapel at Grenville Christian College (GCC) on February 22, 2004.

·     Every year since 1995, the Band has performed to packed houses at Wall St. United Church on New Year’s Eve.  More than 60 Band members usually play in these concerts.

·     Since 1983, the Band has annually competed in the spring Brockville Music Festival at the Brockville Arts Centre. Despite usually being the only "Community Band" competing, the adjudicators have usually been very impressed with the Band's performance and have consistently given the Band very high performance marks. The Band performed in the “Stars of the Festival” awards night concert in 2010.
